Introducing IDH Teesside – expanding our presence in the North East

IDH Teesside team

We’re excited to announce the opening of our new office – IDH Teesside – a dedicated hub for temporary works design, supporting contractors and principal designers across the region.

Led by our Associate Director, Steve Benton CEng MICE, IDH who has been based in the region for more than a decade, Teesside is located in a growing hub for sustainable industry. From our base in the North East we will continue to work across the north of England and into Scotland, supporting with the construction of new sites as well as the maintenance of the existing infrastructure.

What our new office in Teesside means for you

A base is Teesside positions us well to provide support across a range of projects, as the area has benefitted from high levels of investment in sectors such as clean energy, advanced manufacturing, transport infrastructure and freeport‑related developments.

We are already active in the region, providing a range of temporary works and scaffold designs as well as professional services such as the temporary works coordinator, Network Rail support and support with Approval In Principle (AIP) submissions.

Why temporary works is critical engineering

Temporary works design is the often-unseen engineering that underpins every successful construction project. While it is removed once the permanent structure is complete, everyone on site relies on it for safety, stability and buildability. It enables construction to happen safely and efficiently, even though it is rarely visible in the finished asset.

What services will we provide at IDH Teesside?

As projects become more complex and CDM expectations continue to rise, early temporary works engagement has never been more important. Our expanded presence means faster turnaround times, local engineering support, and closer collaboration with site teams and design leads.

From propping and façade retention to crane bases, excavations, and complex sequencing, our specialists are here to help you deliver safer, more predictable and more efficient projects.
