About the Position: 

As a Graduate Design Engineer, your primary role would be to create designs and technical drawings using CAD and analysis software. You would also be responsible for preparing scheme layout technical drawings, supporting calculations, and analysis clearly and concisely. Join our collaborative team and contribute towards developing solutions that enable our clients to understand how to safely erect and operate the equipment. 

Your Responsibilities: 

• Utilise analysis software and CAD (2D/3D) to determine arrangements and solutions applicable to customer requirements. 
• Conduct site visits, prepare clear and accurate site surveys, and assist in developing solutions based on this detail. 
• Produce detailed plans, sections, elevations, notes, and details to ensure safety compliance. 
• Work effectively and independently on multiple projects, often under tight deadlines. 
• Familiarise yourself with industry technical documents and standards as new skills are learned. 
• Liaise and communicate with clients to understand requirements and site-specific constraints. 
• Carry out client liaison and coordination to address problems effectively and efficiently. 
• Undertake the role and duties of the CDM design. 
• Perform technical inspections of structures and other civil/structural elements of a project as required. 
• Manage your time to ensure tasks and deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and per client requirements. 
• Assist in the preparation of quotes. 
• Maintain professional and reasonable conduct when representing the company. 
• Any other duties assigned and required by the business. 

Skills and Knowledge Needed: 

This entry-level position provides day-to-day training, and formal training will be provided based on identified longer-term development needs. As a minimum, applicants are expected to have: 

• Excellent maths and general numeracy skills, including trigonometry. 
• 2D CAD skills. 
• Ability to read and understand engineering plans, section details, and general arrangements. 
• Advanced IT skills. 
• A full clean UK driving licence.

We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and motivated Senior Scaffold Design Engineer to join our thriving team based in London (or the surrounding areas). About the Position: 

We are seeking an experienced Scaffold Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the team. To be considered for this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience in a design-focused role on UK construction projects, with experience in TG20, BS5975, T&F, and system scaffold design. The role is remote, and you should be based within easy access to central London. This is an exciting opportunity that offers a stimulating career, providing a chance to work on a variety of projects and develop innovative engineering solutions for our clients. 

Your Responsibilities: 

• Manage & coordinate the progress of the design through the offices communicating with the customer. 
• Be able to work autonomously and produce designs & technical drawings using CAD and analysis software. 
• Ensure IDH design procedures are adhered to, and CDM/H&S requirements are identified within our schemes. 
• Maintain high-quality of visual presentation for all designs. 
• Working closely with the company Directors and other Senior Designers across all offices, with the key activity to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of designs to our customers. 
• Dive into a range of exciting projects, applying your expertise to diverse scenarios. 
• Create compelling designs and technical drawings, making complex solutions easily understandable for clients. 
• Ensure flawless planning, design, and implementation of scaffold design, embracing the latest software and tools. 
• Conduct site visits, and detailed surveys, and develop innovative solutions for ultimate safety. 
• Provide crucial technical support to colleagues, working independently on multiple projects even under tight deadlines. 
• Seize the opportunity to learn and grow by mastering new skills and staying updated with industry standards. 
• Champion safety by implementing a robust strategy in line with Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015 (CDM2015). 
• Lead and coordinate tasks for junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment. 
• Manage, develop and grow new work streams for IDH. 

Essential Experience, Skills & Knowledge: 

• An engineering degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Ideally working towards Chartered Status with the ICE or IStructE. 
• Construction site knowledge and use of materials 
• Commercial and tendering skills for design projects. 
• Excellent math and general numeracy skills. 
• Excellent 2D CAD skills. 
• Ability to read and understand engineering plans, section details, and general arrangements. 
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Advanced IT skills. 

Desirable Experience, Skills & Knowledge: 

• Knowledge of temporary works. 
• Proven supervising and mentoring skills. 
• 3D draughting/modelling knowledge. 
• Experience in Civil or Structural Engineering is a plus. 
• Previous Business Development Experience. 

The salary for this senior role is negotiable and based on experience, and it includes company benefits and a bonus scheme. 

We are currently looking to recruit Senior (civil or structural) engineers to operate from our offices in Maidstone, Bristol, Manchester, Poland, Ireland, Bahrain and/or remote working opportunities. We are specifically looking for an individual with at least 5+ years’ experience working in the industry, ideally someone with a strong background in steelwork, and a good understanding of temporary works.

The role will involve developing and guiding our team with direct contribution at board level for business development as well as checking, mentoring, developing customers and design. The right individual will be able to demonstrate comprehensive design and structural engineering knowledge with strong analysis and engineering skills. The roles are UK based but you may be required to work for periods of time at our European offices.

Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience, plus company benefits and bonus scheme.
